Domain Transfer Issues

Domain transfer problems

A number of issues may prevent you from transferring a domain name to, or from, Centroot.Net.

Below are common scenarios that can cause a domain transfer to fail, along with possible solutions.

International (gTLD) domains

You have not unlocked the domain name.

International domains can only be transferred once they have been unlocked. Restart the transfer process, ensuring that you unlock the domain.

The domain's unlocked period expired.

An international domain will remain unlocked for seven days. Restart the transfer process, ensuring you complete it within seven days.

The domain has been registered or transfered within 60 days.

International domains cannot be transfered if they were registered, or transfered from another registrrar, within 60 days. Retry the transfer once the 60 day period has expired.

The domain is on hold with the current registrar.

A registrar may prevent a domain's transfer if they are owed money or another problem exists with the domain's management. Speak to the current registrar, resolve any problems, then retry the transfer.

The domain is within 40 days of its renewal date.

An international domain cannot be transfered if there are fewer than 40 days before its renewal date. Either renew the domain early, or wait until after the renewal date, then retry the transfer.

The new registrar has not issued a valid transfer request form within nine days.

Your domain's new registrar must send the existing registrar a transfer request form within nine days of your requesting the transfer. If they don't, the transfer process will automatically fail. Retry the transfer, ensuring your new registrar is aware that you wish to transfer the domain to them.

The domain's administrator has not approved the transfer.

Retry the transfer, ensuring that the domain's Administration Contact replies to approve the transfer. If the Administration Contact email address is no longer in use, change it to an account you access.
